Today I learned a new french song

Imagen
Hi! Today I’m really excited to share something I learned in my French class. My teacher introduced us to a French song called “Tu es foutu”, and I absolutely loved it. The song is about a girl who trusted her boyfriend because he made her impossible promises, he promised her the sky and the sun in winter, which is a French expression used to describe unrealistic promises. One line from the lyrics says: “Tu m’as promis et je t’ai cru,” which means “You promised me, and I believed you.”  I’ll leave the song here so you can listen to it whenever you want. I’m sure you’re going to love it! 🇫🇷🎶

Grammar: Clauses with after, until, and when

Imagen
FOOD YOU FERMENT Grammar: Clauses with after , until , and when Today I learned how to use clauses with after , until , and when . To talk about a sequence of events in the future, we use a time clause with after , until , or when followed by the present tense . The main clause of the sentence stays in the future or imperative form. In the classroom, we wrote a recipe using these clauses. This is mine: Chicken Soup Ingredients                                                              1 whole chicken 2 carrots, chopped 2 celery stalks, chopped                                                    1 large onion, chopped 3 cloves of garlic, minced 8 cups of water Salt and pepper to taste ...

What Does Fusion Food Mean?

Imagen
What Does Fusion Food Mean? Yesterday, I learned that fusion food is a combination of different types of cuisines. At its core, fusion cuisine blends ingredients, cooking techniques, and flavors from different cultures and culinary traditions to create something entirely new. A clear example of fusion cuisine is “Crazy Ramen.” "Crazy Ramen" INGREDIENTS 1 package of instant ramen 1/4 cup of water 2.5 tbsp soy sauce 1 tbsp brown sugar (granulated sugar also works) 3 tbsp sesame oil 4 cloves of garlic, minced 2 green onion stalks 2 tbsp red chili pepper flakes Sesame seeds (to taste) INSTRUCTIONS Boil water in a pot and cook the instant ramen noodles according to the package instructions. Once done, drain the noodles using a strainer and set them aside. In a small bowl, mix the water, soy sauce, and sugar, and set aside. Chop the green onions, separating the white parts from the green parts. Heat the sesame oil in a large skillet over ...

FLIPPING YOUR JOB INTERVIEW

Imagen
FLIPPING YOUR JOB INTERVIEW  To agree I think this advice is really useful for getting a job, especially when you mention that we should ask questions to make a good impression on the interviewer. That is a great strategy. Thank you. To disagree I don’t mean to be rude, but in my opinion this advice is a little ineffective because the information is very brief and it does not provide any evidence or examples. I think it could be more realistic and detailed. To show appreciation This is my first time applying for a job interview. Before reading your post, I felt a little disoriented because I didn’t know how to start an interview, but now I feel more confident and prepared. I really appreciate your useful advice. Thank you very much.

Dynamic and Stative verbs

Imagen
Hi today I´m very excited to share with you what I learned today in my English class, I think this topic is very interesting and useful.  Dynamic Verbs  Dynamic verbs describe an action, change, or process with a beginning and an end. They are the most common type of verb and can be used in all tenses and aspects.  When referring to an action that is or was in progress, we use dynamic verbs with a continuous tense.                    I am eating breakfast now.  Here are some common verbs that refer to actions, not states, so they are dynamic and can be used in both simple and continuous tenses:  Stative Verbs   Stative or non-action verbs are verbs that describe a state or condition rather than an action. As a state has no real beginning or end, stative verbs are only used with simple and perfect tenses. They cannot be used with continuous tenses.  These are some of the most common verbs that ...

My first German class

Hi! Today I feel very happy because I had my first German class . To be honest, at the beginning I felt nervous because German has the stereotype of being a difficult language. I was also worried about the schedule my classes are on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. , and it was my first time being at the faculty at night. However, in the end, it was a great experience. I met a guy who studies Economics at CU, and he decided to take the German class because he lives near the Faculty of Languages. What I Learned Today I learned very basic but very important vocabulary  words we use every day no matter our language level. I’m talking about greetings . In German, just like in English and Spanish, there are two ways to greet people: informal and formal . Below, I’m sharing some common German greetings with their English equivalents. German Greetings INFORMAL ENGLISH FORMAL ENGLISH Hallo! Hello! Hallo! Hello! Tag! Day! Guten Tag! Good day! Morgen! Morning! Guten Morgen! Good...

I think I have a good sense of humor.        3. I like to tell jokes.        4. I have set a goal to learn German this year.        5. Toda y, I broke a record because I drank eight glasses of water.
